This newssheet covers every major topic
relating to the entertainment industry. Sean Jordan has adroitly
understood that his major topic headings of music, tv, movies,
toys, electronics, print, attractions and food are just
different faces of the same corporate machines. Toys tie in with
movies and tv, are sold by fast food chains, accompanied by
music, played on the latest electronics at all the latest shows.
Coverage is well rounded and mentions the latest from Slurpees
to character changes in Spiderman. Every issue has dozens
of great news items.
Writing
Quality/Style - 4.5
Style is quick,
quipped and easy to read. Each issue is nicely laid out and
topic centered. Not every issue has items on each topic, but
clearly covers those items that have occurred over the past few
days.
Regularity -
5
Comes twice per week.
Extras - 5
Each issue clearly identifies copyright,
subscription and authoring info. The ZENtertainment site has
updates info, subscription points and has a very well sorted
archive. Search by major topic, alphabetically or by text
string.
Overall - 5
Great coverage and content delivered with
wit and style. Sean Jordan is one the excellent people on the
Net that produce an industry grade publication purely through
spare time while holding down a full time job.

Every issue has some of the best
editorialized and satirized film news bits around. Included is a
typical box office chart which provides latest week and total
take to date for the top 10 films in the US. The picks of the
week (like it says) cover whatever they want to mention. Each
pick quickly covers a Web site, book, CD or other film related
thingy.
Of course the best and most important
part of each issue is the film reviews. Thoughtfully presented,
each review details the issues, style, content, direction, and
acting of each film and throws out a some excellent point on why
a particular film is great or crappy.
Writing
Quality/Style - 5
Clean clear and
professional, and well edited. Nicely laced with humour and
properly provide links and source info for its major news
items.
Regularity -
5
Weekly like clockwork. Every issue
maintains a high level of consistency and content.
Extras -
4.5
One of the best publication info
sections around. Notes on subscribing, unsubscribing,
syndication and reprinting, ownership and on-line locations for
reading current issues. And of course the site archives past
issues.
Overall - 5
This is one of the best film review e-zines
with or without e-mail delivery. It rivals the best print mags
in its style and content. I've never been disappointed with
their reviews and always enjoy the quick read it provides.
