Well one heckovva holiday season has passed in our household (my wife's and mine) and through that my access to PC's and e-mail has been nonexistent due to a poorly executed (at least on the surface) office move. Merak, where I work on my "on" hours, was moving buildings here in Calgary over the stretch between Christmas and New Year's. But as is possibly normal, the new building was not ready to accept us as tenants, so our furniture and computer equipment sat in moving vans until just this weekend and finally got my PC connected to my mail-box on Sunday, January 3rd.. Hence, I was unable to compose my usual long column and happily had more than enough time to watch all the movies that I was unable to see before the holidays began. So in tribute to the many flicks I saw in the past couple of weeks, I'd like to cover some of the e-mail-zines that I'd printed off before I left, in anticipation of such a problem.
In the spirit of a short time frame, I'd like to cover a couple of e-zines that I've reviewed before (they're still great!), mention another one that I derive a fair bit of cinema info from, and cover the e-mail offerings of the IMDb.
E-zine Title: C I N (( E )) Z I N E™ E-zine Description: C I N (( E )) Z I N E, The Reel Thing™ - a review of film and film related goings on. Each issue has projects in progress rumours, latest weekend US box office grosses, film reviews, various other top/bottom picks and reader mail. Mailed out weekly in plain text via two separate messages. For me one of the consistently useable e-mail-zines I receive. Excellent and regular reviews covering a wide variety of releases. Not everything shows up here, but if you're interested in a good mix of new and video releases along with a good whack of obligatory rumours and innuendo on upcoming releases, this is a great bet. E-zine Title: Film Threat Weekly E-zine Description: Film Threat calls itself "Hollywood's Indie Voice of the New Millennium" A California based, weekly collection of reviews, news, independent and underground films, festivals, editorial, anecdotes and an update on latest box office receipts. Another one that keeps pace with CineZine without a problem. Like the e-zine above, a great source for new and video output. It also focuses a fair bit of effort on film festivals, especially independent ones, which over time has become my primary source for film fest dope.

E-zine Title: Organized Chaos E-zine Description:
++ ORGANIZED CHAOS ++ An excellent independent review e-zine covering not just movies, but the gamut of commercial consumable media. I find that these guys put together a good counterpoint to the above two e-zines, coming from a slightly less civilized (in a good way) direction. Lots of good information to be found, with a recent focus on DVD releases. Nice thing about this one, is the extended media coverage and the excellent rants that are thrown in. E-zine Title: Internet Movie Database E-zine Description: The IMDb newsletter is a monthly publication intended to keep database users and contributors informed of the latest developments from the management team. Now this isn't exactly a movie review e-zine, but it is the management site enhancement update of the best movie resource on the Web, the Internet Movie Database. This mailer comes out periodically (weekly) and lets you know about new feature changes and additions. A smattering from the last few included notification of "top movies by voter gender", a "DVD section browser" and "top movies by genre". If you think something is missing from the IMDB, subscribe to this and be notified of when it's added.
