Nothing new about my office to bother you with but, I've be working hard on the Canadian Beer Review and have added an e-mail newsletter to the site (featured/reviewed in a future column of course). Drop by a take a peek and let me know what you think.

And keeping with this Canadian theme, this week I'm going to cover another Canadian based publication called NETWORKING with a Canadian short take at the end. Keep the recommendations coming.

Content - 5
A well designed newsletter, it provides extensive information on education issues in Canada (and elsewhere). Each issue is divided into Feature Story, News Briefs, Calls (for papers/speakers) and Career Opportunities sections with occasional other sections like Website Watch and Publications of Note. NETWORKING is similar to the Edupage, but focuses much more on educational issues rather than being a broad technology news forum. Loaded full of information this 20 month old newsletter is consistent in its content and information coverage.

Writing Quality/Style - 5
Very well presented, written and edited. Obviously done by professionals with a good knowledge of the Canadian educational community.

Regularity - 4
Punctual like clockwork - within mere hours every half month.

Extras - 5
All the proper standard bits are here: un/subscribe, copyright, contact info etc. The associated site provides a full archive of all articles and issues, and also maintains pages covering the major topic heads from each issue. Nicely designed to boot.

Overall - 5
Pretty impressive. I've read through the past 8 issues and have found lots of information and news bits seemingly not available in other e-mail publications (at least in the few dozen I subscribe to). It's also nice to see what the Canadian university and college network is spending their time and money researching and developing. Well done!

Was just introduced to this publication this evening. Pretty interesting and well worth a visit, if you're interested in things Canadian, (and who isn't really...). Been around for almost a year and covers an eclectic set of Canadian news and issues and stuff.
