Review

The Economist is one of (or just is) the world's most respected news magazines with a depth and breadth of cover that is rarely matched. These two newsletters reprint/preview page four and five of the print edition and contain an excellent capsulated view of what has occurred around the world over the last week.

Content - 5
Content here is clean, concise, accurate and has behind it the resources of one of the best news teams on the planet. I would argue that you obtain the best fast summary of world news available anywhere from this mail-out.

Writing Quality/Style - 5
The Economist style is almost legendary; immaculately written with the occasional witty pun or double entendre thrown in. Use of language is key here, allowing for maximum fact with minimum space.

Regularity - 5
Every Thursday night. Given the large distribution list it generally arrives within a 10 hour time range. Timeliness is also a bonus; it sometimes arrives a full week before the print edition (via subscription).

Extras - 5
Extras... proper instruction set in every issue. And of course you have the opportunity for a free trial subscription to the Economist Web Edition.

Overall - 5
I read these two newsletters every week. Gives a clear indication of recent events and does it with style. Also means I get the information 4-6 days before my print edition crawls in from Canada Post. If the content fits your needs, subscribe!
