Europe - Trip 4

Day 1 - January 31, 2002

The view down the lane

This morning was the trip to Stockholm – one where were are to sample the hospitality of Thomas and Cydney. The flight left at the ungodly hour of 7:30. We had to be up and out of the flat by 4:30 to get there on time. 30 minute Cab, 52 minute train, 2.5 hour plane, 75 minute bus ride, 15 minute walk and we end up at their place. The 4th floor of a turn of the century block of flats with a great view of the street and 12+foot ceilings.

A nap and some reading of the informational Swedish literature that was laid out for us and Thomas came in at about 5. We had a wonderful dinner in and spent the evening enjoying their company. We stayed up late yacking and sharing stories and learning about Stockhom, Sweden and the two of them.

Cydney, we learned that evening, is from Toronto - but we didn’t hold it against her, even though she was not willing to concede that it wasn’t the centre of the universe.

It snowed most of the day. They gravel the sidewalks here.
